The TSB Reading Console DISKUS was adapted to the needs of visually impaired children and is designed for using it at home and at school. As an ergonomic tool where books and sheets can be placed on, it is especially helpful for visually impaired children who will be able to sit comfortably and ergonomically while reading and writing.

Due to a generally good accommodation capacity, especially younger persons with reduced vision can achieve an enlargement effect Sometimes an incorrect sitting posture can cause additional problems.

The main aim is to prevent these complaints and ensure a healthy sitting position while reading and writing.

There is also an extended version of the console (with lighting) available.

The ‘Light Box colored’ is an improved version of Brailletec ‘Light Box’, a tool specifically designed for training visually impaired children on how to use their residual vision more efficiently.

‘Light Box colored’ consists of a translucent white plexiglas work surface illuminated from below. This provides an even, high-contrast background and high luminance for offered materials to ideally adapt to the conditions of visually impaired children. ‘Light Box colored’ is operated by remote control. In using the five buttons, all important functions can be selected: activate, deactivate, switch from white to color, dimming and dynamic color modes.

The color-ring can be used to adjust numerous colors of light and an electronic dimmer allows to adjust the intensity of light. A step-by-step reduction of luminance may support the transfer of gained skills to situations in normal light conditions.
‘Light Box colored’, in conjunction with Light Box materials, can stimulate awareness of light, colours and shapes. This assists in the instruction of a variety of visual functions, such as tracking, scanning visual patterns, eye-hand coordination and visual discrimination.

‘Light Box colored’ may be either used as a flat work surface or positioned incline in four different levels. Two metal feet which are usable in variable ways also allow to set up the Light Box vertically. Built-in fastening bars will hold the work sheets in place even when being positioned incline. The high-durability cold, efficient and fluorescent light source (LED white 3000 cd/m²) is built into a 550 x 380 x 60 mm metallic box.

The TSB Lightdesk is a tool specifically designed for training visually impaired children to learn to use their residual vision more efficiently. Via IR Remote control the brightness, Colors and Light effects can be controlled. The Light Box may be either used as a flat work surface or positioned incline in variable levels (20 and 70 degrees) An optional clamping bar will fix the work sheets.
